Agreement Signed for Deployment of Agility’s Humanoid Robots at GXO Logistics Facility

On June 27, 2024, GXO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: GXO) and Agility Robotics announced an innovative agreement to integrate Agility’s humanoid robots, notably Digit, with other collaborative robots (cobots) at the SPANX facility. This collaboration signifies a significant milestone as it marks the first commercial deployment of humanoid robots in the industry under a Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) model.

Adrian Stoch, Chief Automation Officer at GXO, emphasized the importance of this partnership in enhancing operational efficiency and creating a better working environment for employees. Digit robots, designed for logistics tasks in human environments, will be deployed alongside existing automation solutions, such as Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), in the SPANX facility.

The use of Agility’s Arc platform will streamline the deployment and management of Digit fleets, enabling the robots to perform tasks like transferring totes from cobots to conveyors. This strategic collaboration aims to explore additional applications for Digit robots and expand their deployment to meet growing demand effectively.

Peggy Johnson, CEO of Agility Robotics, expressed pride in being at the forefront of the humanoid robot market, delivering tangible value to customers through practical applications of Digit at customer sites. The companies plan to leverage this deployment to set new industry standards and address real-world operational challenges.

GXO Logistics, the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics provider, focuses on delivering advanced supply chain and ecommerce solutions to its global clientele. Its commitment to providing a dynamic workplace for over 130,000 team members across nearly 1,000 facilities demonstrates its dedication to operational excellence and innovation.

Agility Robotics, known for its transformative Mobile Manipulation Robot Digit, aims to augment human abilities in the workplace through cutting-edge robotic technologies. By introducing humanoid robots like Digit into operational environments, Agility is paving the way for a more collaborative and efficient workforce.

In conclusion, the collaboration between GXO Logistics and Agility Robotics represents a milestone in the logistics industry, showcasing the practical application of humanoid robots to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
