On September 7, 2026, in Warsaw, a group of around 30 humanoid and quadruped robots made a unique demonstration advocating for the regulation of artificial intelligence development. The robots were seen waving flags, simulating chants, and marching in circles in front of the Polish digital affairs ministry. This protest, organized by an initiative called Democratism, aimed to spark discussions about the impact of AI and robotics on the labor market.
One of the AI-powered humanoid robots, Agibot A3, emphasized the significance of the demonstration, stating that the presence of the robots showcased the current reality of this technology. The robots, ranging from bipedal humanoids to dog-like quadrupeds, carried out the protest with slogans such as “Defend workplaces”, “Time for rules”, and “Don’t wait, regulate”, echoing through loudspeakers.
The organizer, Grzegorz Kulis, highlighted the concerns surrounding potential job displacement by robots and AI in cognitive work. Kulis stressed the importance of immediate action to implement regulations that safeguard workers in the face of advancing technology. The visit of Poland’s Digital Affairs Minister, Krzysztof Gawkowski, during the demonstration further underscored the urgency of addressing uncontrolled AI models evolving in humanoids.
Kulis, who currently holds positions in a robotics company and an employment agency, expressed the responsibility to educate society about the rapid technological advancements that can be unsettling. Notably, Poland had recently enacted a bill aligning with the EU’s AI Act to regulate AI development and implementation.
Overall, the demonstration by the robots effectively caught the attention of the public, showcasing the capabilities and implications of AI and robotics in the workforce. This event serves as a call to action for policymakers and stakeholders to proactively address the regulatory challenges posed by the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence.
