Unitree Sets IPO Price, Aiming to Raise Over $900 Million

Unitree, a Chinese robotics company, has set its IPO price at 150.8 yuan per share, aiming to raise 6.1 billion yuan ($904 million). This move would mark Unitree as the first mainland-listed humanoid robot manufacturer. Founded in 2016 by engineer Wang Xingxing, Unitree initially gained recognition for its affordable quadruped robots, namely robot dogs. The company’s humanoid robots like G1, H1, and R1 have garnered global attention for their impressive capabilities such as running, dancing, and martial arts performances.

In a competitive landscape that includes Tesla, Boston Dynamics, and various Chinese startups, Unitree has seen substantial revenue growth, reaching nearly 1.7 billion yuan in 2025 and maintaining profitability with around 600 million yuan in adjusted net profit. Moreover, over 40% of its sales come from overseas markets, showcasing its ability to manufacture advanced robots at competitive prices, leveraging China’s robust supply chains for components like motors, sensors, and batteries.

Unitree’s success underscores China’s prowess in developing sophisticated robots by merging AI technologies with physical machines. While humanoids are being utilized predominantly in educational and research settings, challenges remain in terms of reliability, dexterity, and long-term autonomy in performing diverse tasks independently.

The Company’s journey exemplifies Beijing’s commitment to advancing embodied intelligence—a domain that integrates AI models with machines capable of real-world interactions. Despite the current limitations in replacing human labor, public listings provide companies like Unitree the necessary funding to continue enhancing their technology, especially as government support and investor interest in robotics remain high.

Other companies in the Chinese robotics sector, such as Leju Robotics and AgiBot, are also making strides towards public offerings, indicating a promising future for humanoid robotics in both domestic and international markets. The evolving landscape underscores the significance of innovation, investment, and strategic partnerships in propelling the robotics industry forward.
