Celebrating Its 10 Years – Macé Robotics Contest Macé Robotics, an individual enterprise founded and managed by Nicolas, is marking its 10th anniversary with a contest running until February 26, 2026. Located in Brittany, the company specializes in electronic design and repair services for both businesses and individuals. Since 2016, Macé Robotics has been producing Open Source equipment, including educational robots based on the Raspberry Pi OS for higher education and research purposes. These robots feature a Linux system, integrating a Raspberry Pi board and a dedicated microcontroller (Pico) for motor and sensor management. The design of these robots’ printed circuits is created using the KiCad software under the GNU GPL license. Often used in computer engineering programs, these robots facilitate learning about Linux systems, computer networks, and the Python language through engaging, practical projects.
The prizes for the contest winners will be determined by a random draw: 1st prize: a Raspberry Pi 5 board (2 GB) 2nd prize: a Raspberry Pi Pico 2W board. Delivery within France is complimentary. Reporting on the Robot Race – Saint-Brock Robot Race Following the December 2024 announcement about the mobile robot race organization, here are some insights from the event: despite several school cancellations just weeks before the competition, the race proceeded with approximately fifteen participants. The competition featured a diversity of technologies, including a DIY robot controlled by an ESP32 microcontroller alongside various Raspberry Pi-based robots.
Subsequent comments from various users reflect on the nature of the contest and the authenticity of the event, highlighting the assurance of data protection and commercial operations. Moreover, the community shared their perspectives on the user’s entrepreneurial spirit and approach to promoting open-source initiatives.
Additionally, Macé Robotics extended an invitation to visit their booth at the digital event in Saint-Gregoire in March. The contest winners were also announced, with Nicolas Macé emerging as one of the fortunate recipients. The engagement among users displayed support for the entrepreneurship and innovations introduced by Macé Robotics in the technology sector.
