Unitree Robotics, under the leadership of founder Wang Xingxing, has announced its intention to go public with an IPO on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, aiming to raise approximately RMB 4.2 billion (USD 609 million). The company plans to allocate half of the IPO proceeds towards research and development in robotics and embodied intelligence, with the rest earmarked for further product development and manufacturing enhancements.
Unitree Robotics has seen significant growth in its sales, with revenue reaching RMB 1.7 billion (USD 246.5 million) in 2025, marking a 4.3-fold increase from the previous year. Additionally, the company’s net profit tripled to about RMB 287.6 million (USD 41.7 million). Founded in 2016, Unitree has long been acknowledged as a prominent player in China’s robotics industry, known for its innovative demonstrations and strong leadership. Wang Xingxing has emphasized the importance of embodied intelligence in advancing robotics, highlighting the company’s focus on artificial intelligence model development to power its robots beyond mere motion control capabilities.
One of Unitree’s flagship products is the H2 humanoid robot, while the G1 model has gained public recognition through appearances in events like the Lunar New Year gala in China, where it showcased its capabilities in a martial arts segment. Additionally, Unitree offers robotic form factors beyond humanoid designs, including the quadruped Go2 robot dog.
Regarding commercialization, Unitree projects significant growth with estimated shipments of 10,000 to 20,000 units in 2026. In the domestic market, the company faces competition from UBTech Robotics and technology giants such as Xpeng. Globally, Unitree is often likened to Tesla, known for its development of the Optimus robot.
The company’s planned IPO on the STAR Market signifies its continued commitment to innovation and growth in the robotics sector. With a strong track record of sales expansion and a reputation for cutting-edge technology, Unitree Robotics is poised to make a significant impact in the industry.
