UBTECH, a company based in Shenzhen, China, has commenced the mass production and delivery of their first batch of full-size industrial humanoid robots, Walker S2. This initial deployment of several hundred robots will be phased across various frontline industrial applications. The company is on track to deliver 500 units within the year, signaling a significant step towards large-scale implementation of humanoid robotics in real-world scenarios.
By establishing a closed-loop commercial cycle that encompasses technology development, real-world application, delivery, and continuous improvement, UBTECH has honed its core capabilities to meet market demands swiftly and efficiently fulfill orders. This approach sets a standard for the deployment of humanoid robots and enhances the company’s capacity to reshape industrial ecosystems on a global scale.
In response to the increasing market demand, UBTECH has devised a production ramp-up plan aiming for an annual capacity of 5,000 industrial humanoid robots by 2026, with a further target of scaling up to 10,000 units by 2027. The Walker S2 robots are currently being utilized in various key industrial sectors such as automotive manufacturing, smart factories, logistics, and data collection centers.
One of UBTECH’s recent innovations is the introduction of a turnkey solution that goes beyond product delivery by providing full operational capabilities to customers. Powered by the proprietary BrainNet technology platform, this solution enables swift deployment in various scenarios, enhances usability for industrial clients, and supports innovative applications in manufacturing settings.
The incorporation of UBTECH’s Co-Agent system into the Walker S2 robots equips them with advanced operational capabilities like intention understanding, task planning, tool usage, and autonomous anomaly detection and handling. Moreover, UBTECH has shifted towards scenario-based solutions instead of merely delivering products, aiming to facilitate widespread adoption of humanoid robots on a large scale.
UBTECH’s success is evidenced by a significant number of orders for the Walker series robots, accumulating over 800 million yuan (approximately US$112 million) since early 2025. Collaborations with industry giants like BYD, Foxconn, Audi, and others have further solidified UBTECH’s position in the global humanoid robot market. By deploying robots across various automotive production lines for diverse tasks, UBTECH continues to gather valuable operational data and frontline experience, crucial for optimizing performance and advancing swarm intelligence.
As humanoid robots transition from being technological prototypes to industrial-scale deployment, UBTECH remains at the forefront by tackling key challenges such as technological advancement, real-world applications, and scalable delivery. Their strategy of integrating core technologies with practical insights from the field is driving the evolution of humanoid robotics towards widespread adoption. Through collaboration with industry partners, UBTECH aims to build an open ecosystem and propel the large-scale adoption of humanoid robotics worldwide.
