Once compromised, the infected robot could then spread the attack to nearby units through Bluetooth or other short-range networks, forming what experts call physical botnets. This chain reaction poses significant concerns for industries utilizing robotic systems, ranging from manufacturing to healthcare.

The demonstration at GEEKCon has triggered widespread alarm among technology professionals as shared on platforms like X. The cybersecurity community has highlighted the ease with which these exploits can occur. Notably, the use of inaudible audio signals within frequencies imperceptible to humans, such as those between 16 and 22 kHz, can issue commands, a technique reminiscent of previous research on voice assistants like Alexa and Siri.
