The US-based Foundation Future Industries, associated with President Donald Trump’s family, recently conducted trials of android robots in Ukraine’s combat operations zone, as reported by CNBC. The company’s CEO revealed that two Phantom MK-1 model robots were deployed for a pilot demonstration, marking the first instance of robots being utilized in such a setting. Their primary task was to transport ammunition to the front lines, explained CEO Sankaet Pathak.
Despite the innovative nature of the initiative, the robots were found to have several limitations, per the CNBC report. The Phantom MK-1 model could only carry up to 20 kg and lacked water-proofing. Additionally, their autonomous operation time was insufficient for widespread deployment. In response to these drawbacks, the company is preparing to introduce an enhanced version, the Phantom 2, in Ukraine. This upgraded model is expected to exhibit “superman” capabilities, boasting double the carrying capacity of its predecessor, the Phantom MK-1.
