Rhoda AI Secures $450M to Enhance Industrial Robot AI

The humans behind H-u-m-a-n-o-i-d.com May 18, 2026 2 min read

Rhoda AI recently secured $450 million in Series A financing, with Premji Invest leading the investment. The company specializes in enabling robots to function autonomously in challenging real-world environments. This funding will be instrumental in scaling AI models that are trained on internet videos specifically for use in industrial robotics.

What distinguishes Rhoda AI is its approach to training AI models using millions of internet videos, equipping robots with the skills needed to operate in practical settings such as factories and warehouses, as opposed to controlled laboratory conditions. By leveraging a methodology known as Direct Video Action (DVA), Rhoda pre-trains its AI models using extensive online video libraries and then refines the system with real robot data. This unique method allows their robots to handle a wide range of objects, positions, and unexpected scenarios, continuously improving their capabilities through learning cycles.

Jagdeep Singh, the CEO of Rhoda AI, emphasized the company’s focus on bridging the gap between digital AI and real-world robotics. Unlike traditional robots that rely on teleoperation, which involves remote control by humans, Rhoda’s robots operate independently, learning from real-world video data to adapt dynamically to various challenges.

Publicly launching after 18 months in stealth mode, Rhoda introduced FutureVision, an intelligence layer that empowers robots to function autonomously in industrial workflows. This system has shown exceptional reliability in high-variability environments, surpassing performance benchmarks set by industrial partners.

The $450 million investment will facilitate the expansion of Rhoda’s autonomous industrial robots, support research in generative AI, and enable the deployment of Physical AI on a larger scale. Rhoda’s innovative DVA model combines perception and control, creating a feedback loop that enhances robot performance. FutureVision serves as the cornerstone for autonomous operations and is expected to drive multiple industrial deployments.

Rhoda AI’s long-term vision includes developing humanoid-style robots and in-house hardware to ensure quality performance in real-world applications. By combining large-scale video pretraining with real-world adaptation, Rhoda aims to empower robots to handle complex industrial tasks with minimal human intervention.

The company boasts an impressive lineup of investors, including well-known names like Khosla Ventures, Temasek, and Premji Invest. With a team comprising experts in robotics, computer vision, and generative AI, Rhoda AI is at the forefront of advancing industrial robotics to a new era.
