The CEO of Tesla unveiled the prototype of a humanoid robot named Optimus, as reported by The Guardian. Stepping onto the stage, he waved to the seated audience, marking the first independent and autonomous walk of the robot, according to Elon Musk. A brief video showcased the robot’s various capabilities, such as carrying boxes, watering plants, and moving metal rods at the automaker’s factory. Optimus utilizes the same sensors, cameras, and computers responsible for Tesla’s autopilot function in electric vehicles and is designed to be self-learning. With a built-in battery that lasts for up to a day, the robot weighs around 73 kg.
The main objective, as highlighted by the head of Tesla, is to create a robot that can replace human labor and be utilized in manufacturing and everyday life. The Tesla Bot is envisioned to revolutionize industries by taking over tasks traditionally performed by humans.
