Madison Huang, a senior director at Nvidia Corp., and the daughter of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang, recently paid a visit to LG Electronics Inc.’s robotics hub in South Korea on Tuesday. During her visit, Huang engaged in discussions with senior officials from LG Electronics to explore opportunities for expanding their collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and robotics.
LG Electronics had previously announced its intention to introduce a next-generation humanoid robot capable of bipedal walking by the first quarter of 2027, leveraging Nvidia’s robotics platform. To further solidify their partnership, the South Korean tech giant signed a memorandum of understanding with Nvidia at the latter’s headquarters in California, with LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Jensen Huang in attendance.
The meeting between the two companies involved a thorough review of LG Electronics’ robotics factory in Seoul, which is currently under construction and is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year. The factory is utilizing LG Electronics’ own humanoid robot, LG CLOiD, to gather and process data for AI training. Additionally, Nvidia’s physical AI technologies such as the Nvidia Omniverse libraries, Cosmos world foundation models, and Isaac open robotics development platform are being integrated into the data collection and application processes.
