Unitree Robotics, a leading Chinese robotics company, recently introduced a cutting-edge humanoid robot named “Superman.” The robot is capable of executing an impressive 2-meter jump from a stationary position and can achieve a top speed of 12.66 meters per second on its 0.85-meter-long legs. Notably, this robot has surpassed the existing human records for both vertical jump height and sprint speed. Developed within a timeframe of just over three months, the prototype will undergo further enhancements in the upcoming months to enhance its capabilities even further.
In addition to the Superman robot, Unitree also unveiled the As2W, a wheeled-leg quadruped robot designed for tasks requiring heavy loads and prolonged operation. The As2W robot can continuously lift weights of up to 16 kilograms, travel over 30 kilometers without any load, and attain speeds of 6 meters per second. Impressively, demonstrations exhibited the robot’s ability to dive from platforms and navigate through shallow water due to its IP54 rating. Weighing 25 kilograms, it has a maximum payload capacity of 180 kilograms, making it a versatile and robust solution for various applications.
Moreover, Unitree recently introduced the GD01, its pioneering mass-produced manned transforming mecha, which comes with a price tag starting at 3.9 million yuan (approximately $540,000). This product marks the highest-priced publicly available offering by the company to date, showcasing their commitment to innovation and technological advancement.
Furthermore, in the realm of robotics competitions and exhibitions, over 2,000 robots from 16 different countries are set to participate in the World Humanoid Robot Games. In another event, residents had the opportunity to experience AI-powered games at a robot expo held in Yinchuan. Additionally, the World Robot Contest Jiangsu qualifier commenced in Yangzhou, showcasing the growing interest and advancements in the field of robotics on a global scale.
