Dyna Robotics introduces their latest innovation, the DYNA-2 model, which leverages over 1 million hours of human video footage to enhance robots’ learning of physical tasks. This groundbreaking approach addresses a major hurdle in training robots to perform physical actions. By utilizing human-centric video data equivalent to about 170 years of human experience, Dyna Robotics aims to advance the capabilities of robots in handling physical tasks by observing how humans interact with objects and their environment.

The DYNA-2 World-Action Model exhibits remarkable results, increasing task success rates in high-precision manufacturing from 20% to a remarkable 80%-90%, solely through enhanced pre-training scale. The model demonstrated versatility by transferring skills across various robotic platforms, showcasing its adaptability and efficiency. Dyna Robotics’ innovative world-modeling architecture combines next-frame and next-action predictions, enabling robots to understand changes in physical environments and object responses, leading to enhanced performance across different hardware types.

In comparative tests with the earlier DYNA-1 model, DYNA-2 outperformed in quality pass rates and resilience to disruptions during tasks. The company’s co-founder, Jason Ma, emphasized the significance of learning physical intuition directly from human video, thereby revolutionizing the robotic learning process. Already deployed in establishments such as hotels, restaurants, and laundromats, Dyna Robotics envisions DYNA-2 as a pivotal advancement towards robots mastering new physical tasks without extensive robot-specific training data.

Founded by Lindon Gao, York Yang, and former DeepMind researcher Jason Ma, Dyna Robotics has garnered support from investors such as CRV and First Round.
