Enhancements in supplier quality and meticulous checks have propelled production yields to over 80%, with an exceptional battery yield of 99.3% and more than 9,000 actuators manufactured. US-based robotics entity Figure has made significant strides in scaling up the production of its Figure 03 humanoid robots. The company has transitioned from prototyping to mass production at its BotQ facility in California, achieving a remarkable 24-fold increase in output within four months, now manufacturing one robot per hour.

Utilizing custom software and over 150 networked workstations, Figure has streamlined its operations, enabling the delivery of over 350 units and paving the way for a projected annual production of 12,000 units. The deployment of stringent supplier quality measures and a refined inspection process has led to a consistent rise in production yields and an exponential growth in data generation, crucial for enhancing the robots’ autonomous capabilities.

With a focus on strengthening supplier quality and operational efficiency, Figure has surpassed an 80% end-of-line yield, boasting a 99.3% battery yield, and has successfully shipped over 500 units, with a substantial number of actuators produced. Each robot undergoes a series of rigorous functional tests to ensure reliability and durability in real-world scenarios, driving the advancement of its humanoid AI model, Helix.

Figure has recently unveiled a significant upgrade to its AI model, Helix System 0, introducing perception-conditioned whole-body control that integrates visual data for improved navigation through complex environments. By combining reinforcement learning in simulation with real-world application, robots can now navigate terrains with enhanced stability and agility, transcending conventional limitations.

The latest developments underscore Figure’s commitment to revolutionizing the robotics landscape, accelerating data acquisition, enhancing reliability, and solidifying its standing as a frontrunner in deploying advanced humanoid robots at scale.
