ADVANCING PHYSICAL AI: XYZ Robotics’ Real-World Data and Robot Learning

XYZ Robotics Inc., a South Korean AI robotics company, is making strides in its Physical AI development by leveraging real-world data collected from commercial spaces to enhance robot learning and field verification processes. The company, led by CEO Sung-Jae Hwang, has been utilizing its commercial robots and Café locations operated by subsidiary LoungeX to gather over 3,000 data points daily. This information encompasses aspects like orders, preparation, inventory management, and customer interactions.

One of XYZ Robotics’ notable achievements is the AI robot café solution “Baris Brew” and the delivery robot “STORAGY.” The company has also introduced a building solution known as “RBMS.” Notably, their robot barista named “Baris” has successfully processed over one million food and beverage orders to date. Additionally, XYZ Robotics has developed a proprietary device called “GloveX” to capture behavioral data from human operators, enhancing the performance of its robot intelligence model, “BrainX.”

The company follows a cycle termed “Physical AI Data Flywheel,” where data collected is trained and validated in a digital twin environment named “TwinX” before being applied to improve BrainX’s capabilities. DEUX, a semi-humanoid robot set for launch in the latter half of 2026, is designed to undertake tasks like shelf organization, goods transportation, and cleaning.

XYZ Robotics has secured significant funding, with KRW 13 billion raised in a recent Series B funding round, totaling approximately KRW 27 billion in funding. The focus of this investment will be on DEUX hardware, BrainX development, and data infrastructure. The company has also expanded its reach through partnerships with leading technology firms like NVIDIA and involvement in government projects aimed at AI model development.

CEO Hwang emphasized the importance of efficiently linking real-world data with learning processes to drive competitiveness in Physical AI. The company aims to further enhance DEUX’s capabilities while broadening its range of data collection and hardware devices. XYZ Robotics operates from Seoul Startup Hub Seongsu and has been supported by programs like the Hub’s Global Expansion Program and the Seoul Business Agency’s R&D initiative.
