BOOM Library has recently launched MECHS & ROBOTS, a top-tier sound effects library created to address a common challenge faced by mech sound designers – the need to start from scratch on every new project due to a lack of unified resources that complement each other seamlessly. This release offers a solution to this issue by providing a consistent design language across eight fully developed robot characters in four size classes. This means that a Microbot can easily coexist with a Titan in the same project without conflicting sonically.
The package is divided into three editions: Designed, Construction Kit, and Bundle. The Designed edition boasts eight realized robot characters in various sizes, each with 12 sound categories and up to 57 unique variations. These categories cover a range of sounds, such as footstep, movement, bodyfall, and more. Additionally, the Construction Kit offers a plethora of source material categorized into Metal, Mechanical, Servo, and Synthetic components, enabling sound designers to extend existing characters or create new ones seamlessly.
The sound effects are delivered in 96kHz / 24-bit WAV format with comprehensive metadata compliant with UCS standards, making them ideal for use with popular sound library software like Soundminer and Basehead. Axel Rohrbach, the Creative Director at BOOM Library, emphasized the library’s ability to provide a unified system for mech projects of any scale, from nanobots to massive mechs, by combining designed characters with raw materials for customization.
MECHS & ROBOTS presents a special introductory offer with a 20% discount available for two weeks after the release date. The regular pricing for the Designed edition is $139/119€, Construction Kit is $209/179€, and the Bundle is priced at $265/229€. These promotional prices are valid until June 11th, 2026.
