Chinese robotics company Agibot recently introduced its humanoid robots into an active manufacturing environment where they have been integrated into the operations of Longreacher Technology, an electronics manufacturer based in Shanghai. These Agibot G2 robots have been positioned at multimedia-integrated testing stations to handle intricate loading and unloading tasks with precision and efficiency. Their successful deployment signifies a significant move towards incorporating embodied AI systems into real-world industrial settings.

At Longreacher Technology, the Agibot G2 robots are currently stationed at multimedia-integrated testing points, where they diligently manage intricate loading and unloading tasks that demand precision, consistency, and synchronization. This showcases the advanced capabilities of Agibot’s hardware and software systems in handling repetitive industrial processes seamlessly. The testing stations combine various functional elements that necessitate flawless coordination between perception, motion planning, and manipulation. Leveraging a range of sensing capabilities such as visual perception and spatial awareness, the G2 robots can accurately identify objects and perform task sequences continuously within structured production workflows, underlining their readiness for industrial implementation.

Agibot’s approach involves building a cohesive ecosystem for embodied intelligence that integrates robot hardware, AI models, and extensive data infrastructure to facilitate continuous learning and enhancement. This strategy enables the robots to adapt to varying tasks and environments, moving beyond predefined instructions. The success of this deployment illustrates that embodied AI is no longer experimental but a viable capability that can operate effectively in real-world industrial settings, delivering tangible economic value.

The Agibot system boasts impressive capabilities in high-precision manufacturing tasks, navigation through complex factory layouts, accurate placement of devices into testing fixtures, and categorization of finished or defective units. Unlike traditional industrial automation, this system supports mixed-model production without the need for custom tooling, leading to quicker changeovers and reduced downtime. With outstanding performance metrics like a throughput of up to 310 units per hour, cycle times of around 19-20 seconds per operation, and a success rate surpassing 99 percent, Agibot has showcased its prowess in continuous operation. The system was seamlessly integrated into the production line within a mere 36 hours, achieving an output of about 3,000 units per shift.

By leveraging Agibot’s embodied AI methodology, the system can swiftly adapt to dynamic production conditions, ensuring stable performance in high-speed manufacturing settings. Through simulation-based validation, reinforcement learning, and on-device intelligence, the setup time is minimized, manual adjustments are reduced, and consistent performance in continuous production is maintained. Agibot plans to scale up the deployment to 100 robots by Q3 2026, extending their reach across sectors like automotive, semiconductors, and energy, thus propelling the adoption of embodied AI systems.

Industry experts view these advancements as indicative of a broader transition in manufacturing from rigid, hardware-centric automation to flexible, software-driven intelligent systems supported by embodied AI.
