At the sight of three containers holding t-shirts in different sizes, Figure 03 doesn’t hesitate. The robot identifies the requested one and efficiently hands it over. This simple gesture exemplifies what sets apart the most advanced humanoid devices today: the integration of vision, language, and action. The robot from the Californian startup, Figure AI, is tailored for practical tasks in controlled environments. Its latest model represents a significant advancement compared to its predecessors. Standing at approximately 1.68 meters, the robot features fabric coverings and foam padding to minimize risks during human interactions. It is 9% lighter than previous models, equipped with more powerful speakers and wireless charging in its feet, providing about five hours of autonomy. Every function, from voice to object manipulation, is designed to streamline interactions. However, vocal responses still require two to three seconds, slightly interrupting the flow of conversation.
The key to its capabilities lies in Helix, Figure AI’s Vision-Language-Action model, linking what the robot perceives, understands, and executes. This system enables Figure 03 to swiftly transition from grasping a verbal request to practical implementation, as demonstrated in the t-shirt delivery scenario. Figure 03 was officially introduced in October 2025 as a robotic assistant for pick-and-place activities, suitable for both domestic and professional settings. The introduced innovations in this model showcase how humanoid robots are narrowing the gap between technical abilities and human interaction. A social media video capturing the demonstration sparked discussions and curiosity, emphasizing both the potential and limitations of a robot destined to become more familiar in everyday environments.
