Artificial intelligence system Carbon has made the android even more human-like. The seventh version of the robot Phoenix by the Canadian company Sanctuary AI can learn and perform various tasks that a human does in just 24 hours, thanks to the enhanced software and hardware, as reported by Interesting Engineering. Sanctuary AI recently unveiled the latest generation of its revolutionary humanoid robot, Phoenix, with upgraded Artificial Intelligence (AI) system Carbon to make the android even more human-like.

Developers have enhanced the AI software to achieve this by incorporating significant hardware upgrades, providing greater flexibility in the wrists, hands, and elbows of the robot. According to Sanctuary AI, the 7th generation Phoenix is the most complex version of a humanoid robot designed for the most accurate imitation of human behavior. The model has been trained on high-quality and credible data.

Equipped with miniature hydraulics to reduce weight and energy consumption, as well as modern sensors for visual acuity and tactile feedback, the robot can now learn a new task within just 24 hours compared to weeks for its predecessors. Previous versions mainly focused on torso movements, while the 6th generation learned how to walk.

Sanctuary AI recently released footage showing Phoenix 7 sorting colored objects. The video also demonstrates the latest version of the robot being trained through teleoperation by a human trainer. Using this data, the Carbon AI software analyzed all processes for the android to independently perform them.

In the future, such robots could be utilized to assist workers in carrying out laborious or repetitive tasks, theoretically freeing up personnel for more complex assignments. Previously, we discussed how the flamethrower robot Thermonator could aid the Ukrainian Armed Forces. These autonomous armed systems are increasingly finding applications on the battlefield.
