LG unveils robots powered by Google’s generative AI

humanoid December 11, 2025 2 min read

LG Electronics has integrated Google’s generative AI, Gemini, into its LG CLOi robot, to offer advanced robot services with enhanced intelligence. This collaboration with Google marks a significant step towards providing next-generation robot technologies. The incorporation of generative AI into LG’s robots aims to revolutionize user interactions by enabling robots to receive commands through text, voice, images, and coding.

Introduced at the Google Cloud Summit Seoul event, the Gemini-powered CLOi GuideBot showcases a new level of sophistication in AI-driven functionalities. LG demonstrated the robot’s AI chatbot feature, which responds naturally to queries and generates images through voice commands. This integration of generative AI technology will empower CLOi robots to communicate more effectively by autonomously generating responses to a wide range of user inquiries.

LG plans to launch the LG CLOi GuideBot with Google’s generative AI later this year and expand the application of this technology to its existing guide robots through wireless software updates. By enhancing the language capabilities of their robots, LG aims to provide more accurate and personalized customer experiences. The company envisions robots evolving to perform creative and complex tasks, further enhancing their role in various industries.

With the market for robotics expected to reach $64.35 billion by 2030, LG is strategically positioning itself to lead innovation in the robot business. The integration of advanced AI technologies with LG’s robotics expertise underscores the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions to customers. Roh Kyu-chan, head of LG’s robot business division, expressed confidence in the synergy between LG’s AI capabilities and leading tech companies’ platforms to drive customer experience innovation.

LG’s focus on establishing a robust robot ecosystem is evident in its efforts to expand the application of robotics in diverse environments, including airports, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, retail stores, and warehouses. The integration of generative AI into LG’s robots is a testament to the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of technological innovation and enhancing customer interactions through intelligent robotics solutions.
