Anywit Robotics, a company founded in December 2023, has recently secured a significant funding in a pre-Series A round from various industry investors, including Didi’s corporate venture capital arm. The substantial eight-figure RMB sum will be utilized to enhance its standardized expressive head products and elevate its emotional interaction models. Winsoul Capital, which led Anywit’s angel round, acted as the financial advisor for this transaction.
Anywit specializes in developing multimodal interactive robots that aim to imitate human vitality. One of its products is a head-and-face component for humanoid robots boasting 34 degrees of freedom. This system allows for expressions that mimic those of humans, such as eye contact and audio-lip synchronization. By integrating a multimodal large model, a proprietary small model for generating emotions, and a motion planning system capable of managing various intents, Anywit aims to provide users with natural interaction experiences.
Cao Rongyun, the founder and CEO of Anywit, stated that the company leads the market in its specialized segments and competes globally with industry pioneers like Ameca. Anywit has introduced interactive robots with expressive head-and-face components for applications in education, research, marketing reception, and entertainment. One of their robots, Anni, was showcased at this year’s World Robot Conference and the 27th China Hi-Tech Fair.
Placing emphasis on commercialization, Anywit has started delivering educational robots, established a standardized product line, and deployed robotic teachers in primary schools. The company plans to expand its product portfolio, with mass production of standardized robotic head-and-face components slated for 2026. Cao believes that advanced facial expression interaction technology will be a crucial advancement for wider robot adoption, akin to the impact of graphical user interfaces and touch screens in the tech industry’s evolution.
Anywit’s team comprises graduates from the University of Science and Technology of China, with extensive experience in human-machine interaction and a track record of success in international robotics competitions. The company’s approach to innovation and development has attracted attention and funding from prominent investors in the industry.
