In 2025, Chinese companies emerged as leaders in the global market for human-like robots in terms of shipments and market share, a recent report by research firm Omdia revealed. Titled “Radar of the Embodied Robotics Market for General Purposes”, the report highlighted that the industry experienced rapid growth that year, with an estimated 13,000 units shipped annually. Agibot, a Chinese technology innovator, stood out as the market leader by shipping 5,168 units, representing a 39% share of the global market, followed by Unitary Technology.
The report underscored a trend towards integrating generative artificial intelligence with robotics, leading to the development of “general embodied intelligence” in robots that possess the ability to learn and adapt to diverse environments. Forecasts predict a significant expansion of the human-like robot market in the coming decade, with global shipments anticipated to reach approximately 2.6 million units by 2035.
Furthermore, China recently launched the world’s first global app store exclusively dedicated to human-like robots, signaling ongoing growth and innovation in the sector. This move demonstrates the country’s commitment to advancing technology and staying at the forefront of robotic advancements.
