Agility Robotics, an American humanoid robot company, has recently secured an investment from NVIDIA in its Series C funding. In addition to NVIDIA’s investment, Agility Robotics also received funding from Denso Group’s subsidiaries, including Denso Asia and Canon, totaling NT$300 million. The founder of Agility Robotics is scheduled to visit Taiwan, with Canon being the first stop on the agenda to explore potential collaborations in developing mass-produced robot vision modules.
The partnership between Agility Robotics and NVIDIA extends beyond technical cooperation and includes investment from NVentures, NVIDIA’s venture capital division. It is speculated that NVIDIA’s investment in Agility Robotics ranges between $20 to $30 million, although the exact amount remains unconfirmed. Agility Robotics specializes in Mobile Manipulation Robots (MMRs) and has introduced the Digit humanoid robot, which has garnered interest from industry giants like GXO Logistics and Amazon.
Denso Group has been actively involved in the robotics sector and, together with Canon and other related enterprises, has invested around $10 million in Agility Robotics. Canon is also pursuing collaboration for the development and production of robot vision modules. Jonathan Hurst, the founder of Agility Robotics, is expected to visit Taiwan on the 24th to engage in discussions, particularly in the field of robot vision modules.
Agility Robotics aims to manufacture robots capable of moving, working, and adapting in dynamic environments alongside humans. With the support of NVIDIA, Agility Robotics has made significant advancements in AI and autonomy in bipedal humanoid robots. The deployment of robot technology is set to expand in warehouses, factories, homes, hospitals, hotels, offices, and retail stores, with NVIDIA’s technology platform providing computational efficiency and flexibility.
The year 2025 is anticipated to be the dawn of humanoid robots, with Denso Group’s subsidiaries, including Denso Innovation and Canon, joining forces to invest in Mantis Robotics. Canon has also received sensor orders from Mantis Robotics, with initial orders totaling around 300 units slated for shipment in the fourth quarter. This move underscores the growing interest in robot technology and its potential contributions to future revenue streams.
Agility Robotics emphasizes its commitment to developing robots that can seamlessly interact and collaborate with humans in various environments. The collaboration with NVIDIA has been instrumental in enhancing the AI and autonomy of bipedal robots.
